20 Stress Reducers |
|
- Get enough sleep. If necessary, use an alarm clock to remind you to go to bed.
- Don't rely on your memory. Write down when to do tasks at work and home that need to get done.
- Plan ahead. Don't leave things to the last minute. Keep a well-stocked "emergency shelf" of supplies at home and at work and don't let the gas tank get below ¼ full.
- Don't put up with things that are not working right. If something is a constant aggravation, deal with it!
- Go make friends with non-worriers.
- Take 30 minutes of brisk walking everyday.
- Forget about counting to 10. Count to 1,000 before doing or saying something that may make matters worse.
- Take the scissors to your credit cards.
- Think of your next embarrassing situation as an episode on "Funniest Home Videos".
- Everyday, make time for some solitude.
- Allow ample time between appointments so you don't have to rush, worry and apologize for being late.
- Talk it out. Discussing your problems with a trusted friend can help clear your mind of confusion.
- Instead of doing something tomorrow, do it today; instead of doing it today; do it now. Hard work is simply the accumulation of easy things you didn't do when you should have done them.
- Relax your standards. The world will not end if chores are not done this weekend.
- Add an ounce of love to everything you do.
- Say, No Thanks to extra projects you don't have time or energy for or ask for help.
- Donate extra stuff to charity.
- Do nothing, which, after being done, leads you to tell a lie.
- Carry a duplicate car key in your wallet.
- Be tender to the young, compassionate with the aged, tolerant with the weak. In you life, you will be all of these.
