Overview

Business Analysts are required to contribute to a project by completing a Business Requirements Document that defines the needs of customers and all other stakeholders. The Business Requirements Document guides the project team to consider the how the project will impact customers and other stakeholders.

Session Focus

Participants will explore various techniques to gather stakeholder and customer requirements through discussions, exercises and case examples. As well, they will analyze and document these identified requirements. The outcome will be the completion of a Business Requirements Document (BCD) required as a foundation for a project plan.

Who Should Attend?

Individuals who are Business Analysts or individuals required to collect user and customer project requirements.

  • Explore the role and responsibilities of the business analyst and/or project manager in understanding stakeholder requirements.
  • Understand the competency requirements for a business analyst and the role of the business analyst on a project team.
  • Clarify customer requirements for the project by applying the business requirements documentation process.
  • Learn various methods, processes and tools to identify and collect stakeholder requirements.
  • Analyze customer requirements.
  • Determine the types of business requirements.
  • Manage the on-going needs and expectations of stakeholders.
  • Learn how to control and manage changes to stakeholder requirements.
