Making decisions is one of the most important jobs we do everyday yet it is also the toughest and the riskiest. Bad decisions can damage a business and a career sometimes irreparably.

Most people tend to move from decision to solution or from the identification of an opportunity to the options to implement it without spending the time to consider their decision carefully.  This usually increases risk and/or results in poor solutions and outcomes.

 

Session Focus

This training workshop will help individuals to understand an easy process for making more effective decisions and realizing better opportunities, regardless of whether they are management or staff.  It covers the principles of decision-making and problem-solving to help bring dramatic improvements in how people work, the work they do and the output delivered from this work.

All levels of staff, whether in private or public sector organizations.

What You Will Learn

  • Understand how to define the basic problem or issue and the Critical Thinking Process..
  • Recognize the difference between a problem as given and a problem as understood.
  • Break a problem down into manageable components for faster decision analysis.
  • Determine the root causes of the problems/issues so that the “right” solutions are identified.
  • Identify approaches for possible solutions and options to ensure measurable results.
  • Apply a proven process for problem solving to actual problems or issues that participants are trying to manage within their organizations.
  • Learn how to use the critical thinking process both individually and within a team.
  • Measure the impact of going with the final decision or not.
    Determine which decision solution is best and prioritizing its implementation.
  • Apply innovation and creativity to the development of their decisions.
  • Develop detailed implementation plans that ensure successful execution of the decisions with measurable results.
