Developing the project team is met by enhancing the competencies of the individual project team members and promoting the interaction of all the project team members. In matrix organizations, the project team members are accountable to the project manager and to their functional managers. Developing the project team can prove challenging, since the project team members may feel pulled between multiple bosses.

Participants will learn how to lead an effective project team by having to deal with different problems that commonly occur in teams.

What You Will Learn |

- Manage a project as a team.
- Communicate the expectations of the project sponsor to the team.
- Develop and agree on a shared Project Team Goal and Project Statement.
- Clarify the roles and responsibilities of the Project Manager, Project Leader, Team Members and Team Facilitator.
- Identify the major barriers to effective teamwork and how to overcome them.
- Manage team member differences including backgrounds, experiences, views, etc. in order to create a collaborative, cohesive team.
- Manage conflicts and disagreements among team members.
- Create, build and maintain continued commitment and involvement of the team to the project.
- Manage within the matrix structure and manage different team structures.
- Establish relationships among other teams working on the same project.
